In this ongoing community-building event, volunteers improve the homes of those living in Toronto Community Housing units by painting inside each house and helping with basic maintenance. Lunch will be provided by the host residents each work day. (No work on Sundays.)

Annual Driftwood Community Festival
Saturday, June 19 at the Driftwood Community Centre (4401 Jane St.)
There will be activities for the whole family including sports, games, a multicultural talent showcase, rides for the children and multicultural foods. The radio station CHRY 105.5 will also be broadcasting live on location! The theme for this year’s festival is “Get Involved,” which encourages community members to participate in making their neighbourhood a better place to live.

Last registration day for Yorkgate Idol
Saturday, May 29 at Yorkgate Mall, 2 p.m.
Students must be in grade 9-12. Bring student ID and signed parent/guardian consent.
Participants will audition on June 12 and 19, and the winner will perform at Jr. Caribana on July 17.

Know Your Rights film premiere
Friday, May 21 at the York Woods Library Theatre (1785 Finch Ave. West).
